About this hike

Tarabosh rises above the south-western shore of Lake Shkodra, facing the city and Rozafa Castle. The hike starts in the lakeside village of Shiroka and climbs through Mediterranean scrub up to the ridge.

Up on the ridge we walk with open views over the lake, Shkodër, the Buna river and the mountains of northern Albania. It's one of the most scenic hikes for winter and spring, while the high mountains are still under snow.

Tip

The trail has little shade, so bring plenty of water and sun protection. Spring and autumn are the best seasons, summer is very hot.
