About this hike
Maja e Murgës rises above Lake Koman, near the village of Buzhalë in the Pukë area. From the top the lake looks like a green fjord winding between the mountains, one of the most beautiful views in northern Albania.
The trail is clear and there are water springs along the way. The climb is steady but has no technical sections, so this hike suits people who are just starting to do longer outings.
Tip
On the way down we always stay on the main trail: shortcuts through the scrub are tiring and it's easy to lose your way.
What to bring
- Hiking shoes with good grip
- A 20–30 litre backpack
- At least 1.5 litres of water
- Food and snacks for the whole day
- A wind and rain jacket
- Hat, sunglasses and sunscreen
